  Happy St. George's Day! Today is England's national day. Their flag is known as St. George's cross and it's the central part of the Union Jack (the British flag).

When we studied some examples there were some doubts, as some of you couldn't see the difference between some examples. I hope the following explanation would help to clarify this point.
 
When we want to express a regret we use WISH + past.
I wish I knew the answers to the exam.  

When we express a complaint about a situation we use WISH... would.
I wish you would stop interrupting me.
