Rome by Alba MM

Rome is the capital of Italy and its located on the banks of the Tiber river. This Italian city has attracted tourist since its beginnings because of its many ancient monuments and archaeological remains.

At the heart of this huge city is the Coliseum which is a memory of the fights live-or-death between gladiators. In the Spanish Square, you can find the best-known stairway of the country and a little further, it’s situated the amazing Trevi’s Fountain. We cannot forget about the Vatican, the pope’s residence.

But Rome isn’t only known because of its ancient monuments. Living like a local can show you the true spirit of the city. Eating as many different food as you can; go shopping in its many clothing stores; and a walk through it at night is unforgettable.

There are so many things to see and do that you will want to come back again. Its a city that is worth visiting.

Calpe, Alicante by Diego

Calpe is a village of Alicante, Spain, where every year a huge amount of tourists spend their holidays to get relaxed and to enjoy the views, the gastronomy and the beaches.

The most remarkable place in Calpe is the “Peñón de Ifach” which is a crag that stands out from the entire village. In addition, many people draw pictures of the tourists with this enormous mass of rock.

Furthermore, there are breathtaking long beaches that have clear water; in fact, it is possible to observe the fish moving from above.

Also, about the gastronomy, the rice is quite popular, especially paella; however, it is cooked in many different ways.

To sum up, I would say that Calpe is a high recommended tourist place. Even though, I would rather go off season because there are always fewer people.

Sydney by Sara B.

Sydney is located in the southeast of Australia, is one of the oldest and biggest city, with a population of 4.5 million inhabitants. It is known for its modern architecture combined with their beautiful natural landscapes.

At the heart of Sydney is the Opera House, the most emblematic place of the city, you can´t miss its breathtaking views, especially at night, and if possible visit the auditorium.

It is worthy wander along the seafront enjoying the spectacular beaches, walk around Darling Harbour visiting the shops and riding its attractions, look at the great oceanic barrier reef and the Sydney aquarium.

Sydney is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and most frequented by tourists. It is clearly the best place to go on vacation due to its awesome scenery and buildings.

QUEBEC CITY by Irene

Quebec City is the capital of the Canadian province of Quebec, and the only walled city in North America.

On the one hand, along its steep streets you can see a wonderful historic centre full of monuments like the “Château Frontenac” or the Cathedral of Notre Dame of Quebec.

On the other hand, you can also enjoy nature visiting, for examplethe Chute de Montmorency, a spectacular waterfall. Additionally, in winter, you can wander around a frozen forest and have a marvellous hike. If you like sports, you can go ice skating or play hockey with just finding a frozen lake.

In what concerns food, don’t miss to taste the famous and peculiar maple taffy, a sugar candy made by maple sap poured on fresh snow.

I think Quebec City is a fantastic winter holiday destination to enjoy, learn and know customs very different from those of Spain.

The Netherlands by Manuel R.

I’m going to talk about the Netherlands, especifically about the characteristic culture of the country.

First of all, what almost everyone know is that they use a lot the bike for going everywhere. This is because  of the flat ground and there are large bicycle roads. This is so much different as Spain, because we got some bike roads, but they are not as useful as in the Netherlands.

Another thing that I’d like to talk about is the weather. It is so rainy and not as warm as it is in Spain. When I was there, more than one time it had been raining a lot the whole day and, because of that, we couldn’t go outside

I could be talking about the culture such a long time, but in conclusion, I recommend to go to the Netherlands which is a really interesting place.

Maldives by Eva

The Islands Maldives are located in India, it is a 8790 kilometres from Spain to there. In my opinion this landscape is unique and attractive, for it is natural and tranquility. It is a place where you could go to holidays to enjoy and disconnect.

In this site it is known for its beaches, blue lagoons, and extensive reefs. The capital is Malé which has a fish market, restaurants and shops. In 2004 there was a famous tsunami that left many people homeless and others person had killed.
The culture is very different if you compared with my culture, because here your language is the divehi, the tipic food is the rice, fish and coconut. Your religion is the islam what is unique and compulsory.
I would go to this place for hollidays for a few days to enjoy its beaches as they are beautiful, but I wouldn´t  like to live there.

London by Lucía C

 WRITING : LONDON

London, capital and largest city of Inlaterra and the United Kingdom that I have liked the most since I was little. In this multiracial city coexist people from a large number of cultures that speak more than three hundred different languages.
Its most famous monument is the Big Ben and represents the city. The London Eye is the most famous Ferris wheel in London. We can also visit the home of the Queen of Inlaterra and it is curious but it is possible to visit it inside. "Piccadilly Circus" is one of the most famous crossroads in the world. It is located in the heart of London , surrounded by shops , theaters, clubs and restaurants . The Hampton Court Palace is a lovely walk outside London."Leicester Square" is a busy square and considered a popular area of the city where you can find many types of shops and even a casino.
It is a city that I consider very quiet and that you learn a lot of culture and you can improve your English if you go for a good season. You can enjoy the beautiful views and have a nice memory of there.
