Venice, is a city located in Italy. Situated at the northwestern end of the Adriatic Sea, Venice lies on an archipelago in the crescent-shaped Laguna Veneta (Venice Lagoon).
It is best known for its beauty, architecture, and art. The canals of Venice, so famous throughout the world, are its main attraction.
For me, the most exciting activity you can do in Venice is the Carnival. The Venice Carnival is one of the most well-known festivals in the world, as well as being one of the oldest. It takes place every winter and lasts for around ten days.
During the period of the Carnival, the Venetians wore masks and costumes and had huge parties. The city streets fill with people wearing beautiful Venetian masks and traditional costumes. Although these can be bought, many local residents still prefer to make their own, in addition, concerts, theatre, circus performances and other festivities keep the Carnival guest entertained day and night throughout the holiday.
In short, every day of the Venice Carnival is an adventure. If you go to Venice during Carnival, you will enjoy the most colourful and exciting festival in Europe. Venice is one of the most beautiful and impressive cities in the world and you can enjoy it in any season of the year.
